Six Sigma Certification Helps Job Seekers Stand Out

Six Sigma was pioneered by Motorola Corporation as a methodology to eliminate variance in production methods. It was designed to quantify procedures, thereby increasing quality. This means that the end customers can rely on getting a consistently high product each time they deal with a Six Sigma enabled company.

Six Sigma can benefit anyone who is looking for a job. It is commonly known that those job seekers who are looking for waste reduction or quality control positions can benefit from Six Sigma certification. But too often, the rest of the job seekers overlook the value of the training when seeking other types of positions. Even if the job description doesn't contain the term 'quality control', having Six Sigma knowledge is an advantage that can lead to getting hired.

Businesses know well that the most cost effective way to get a job done often requires paying a little more to a qualified employee. This is cheaper than paying for the mistake to be corrected. Poor performance, whether it's material costs or customer satisfaction, costs far more than the salary because the job is going to have to be done twice. When an interviewer is sitting across the table from a Six Sigma Certified candidate, he or she knows that this potential employee has been trained to do jobs properly. The Six Sigma trained employee will not likely be one who creates extra costs pertaining to poor or sloppy performance.

Once an employee completes Six Sigma Certification, he will possess skills that will be helpful to the employer even if his specific job doesn't call for them at the time of hiring. Like speaking another language, the Six Sigma training provides a universal advantage to the employee. The actual proof of certification is a must when seeking a job. Employers will want to see it and it can easily be provided by the Six Sigma training organization, often by merely logging onto a website.

When an employer comes across a job candidate that has completed Six Sigma Certification, he will often try to find that candidate any job available, even if the job in question has been filled. The employer recognizes the value of having a certified employee on board. The certification provides employees a crucial advantage over those who are not certified, whether in their current position or at a new position at a new company. In today's job market, the advantage is clear and can make the difference in getting hired or not.
