Foods Info Guide My Food Pyramid

By C. Donlotze

A lot of people nowadays are so occupied with work, so much so that they actually can not find time to eat what is best for their health. In most cases, this group of people always find themselves in a hurry and will tend to eat junk food. It is important to note that balanced nutritional eating is one of the essentials of healthy living.

Regularly eating healthy and good food is vital in order to maintain good health. It is important to ensure that all family members take their food as scheduled, on time. Skipping meals should be avoided, especially breakfast which is the most vital meal of the day.

Eating healthy should not only be thought of, but eating a balanced diet on a regular basis should be of utmost and paramount importance. Keep in mind that this is very essential because it gives us the vigor that we seek, to carry out our everyday tasks. Therefore, always make sure that everybody within the household eats well and as planned.

Create a blank personal nutrition food pyramid and give it the name my food pyramid. Make a list of foods that can be included in the 5 basic food groups that have been provided. The food types can be changed weekly to avoid giving the same food type over and over again to your family.

You can change it weekly to be able to offer something new to your family but it has to be done according to the food pyramid guide set by nutritional experts.Your food pyramid should contain food rich in carbohydrates like rice, pasta, cereals, oatmeal, bread, and corn. Foods that are made from grains like wheat are also included in this group.

The 5 basic food groups include proteins, carbohydrates, fruits, vegetables and dairy. Proteins which are important for healthy muscles, are found in meat, fish, eggs and cheese, carbohydrates are obtained from breads, cereals, pasta and rice. Vegetables and fresh fruits are important for minerals, vitamins and fiber which helps clean the body of toxins.

Dairy products should also be included as part of the daily meals usually in breakfasts. Calcium which is found in milk, yogurt and cheese is good for the bones and teeth as it keeps them strong and healthy. You may have to choose an alternate like soy because of allergies in your family.

Foods rich in protein such as pork, chicken meat, beef, and fish are also essential for muscle building. You could also include beans, nuts, and legumes that are also rich in protein. And don't forget that "good" fats and oils are also important for your nutrition and health.
