Is Work Stressing You Out?

By Christian Goodman

I loved growing up on a farm, mainly because of the animals. They are completely honest. When they feel mad, they demonstrate it. If they are forelorn, that let that show too by screaming out.

We as humans on the other hand have become accustomed to putting on one face for the public and feeling entirely different inside.

It's not often you come across an animal with high blood pressure or heart related problems.

I can't help but ponder what kinds of problems we create for ourselves.

A number of people have provided good feedback as to their suspicion that many of their ailments are job stress related specifically.

It's amazing just how hazardous modern life can be - even in an office atmosphere. Stress related problems account for over a million absences per day.

Corporate training has crafted curriculums around the very issue of job stress. There are expensive books and even huge conferences covering this topic.

There are a few less expensive ways to work through the problem.

I suppose one could quit his or her job.

Most people could not actually do this without creating even bigger stress related problems.

Some common stress relief techniques are readily available and nothing new. We just don't tend to incorporate them when we really need to.

Say no sometimes. This does not have to be rude or insubordinate.

Many people are driven to keep adding to their workload, long after they should have been "tapped out." This is usually to help others who seem to need the break. Every so often, ask yourself if you are actually the one who needs the break.

What are the consequences if I don't grant this particular favor?

Asking for help occasionally does not have to be portrayed as your failure. The very people who regularly come to you should understand why you, yourself would like to have it reciprocated on occasion.

Stop. Walk away from your work environment for just a bit. Walk slowing and without trying to problem solve along the way. Don't set up a destination - just walk and try to clear your mind for a few minutes every hour if possible.

Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables whenever possible. This will help with your energy level.

Watch how you are sitting. Slouching or crouching for extended periods of time will make the back as well as other parts of your body sore.

Avoid shallow breathing. Deep breathing will add much needed oxygen to the body.

Give your fingers and hands a break. Typing all day can be exhausting too. Breathe in deeply, and as you exhale stretch out your fingers and feel the stress exiting through your finger tips.

That will help especially if you do it regularly.

When you leave work, REALLY leave work. Change your mental thought process from "work mode" to "relax mode." The ride home will be much more enjoyable as will your evening.

I also highly recommend my all natural programs for many of health related problems.

Try The Dizziness and Vertigo Program, Headache and Migraine Program, Weight Loss Breeze Program, Fibromyalgia Program or The High Blood Pressure Program.
